The most care free way to travel around the capital area is, with out a doubt, by bus. Rout 15 will pick you up in the center of Reykjavik and take you straight to Mosfellsbær. The journey takes about 30 minutes and you can view the lovely scenery while riding.
Mosfellsbær is only a 15-minute drive from midtown ReykjavíkTravellers who head out of Reykjavík for the west and north of Iceland will pass right through Mosfellsbær on route 1, while the road to the Þingvellir National Park, route 36, branches off in Mosfellsbær up the Mosfellsdalur valley.
By bike or walking
The asphalt-surfaced walking and biking path network in Mosfellsbær links up with the paths of Reykjavík, providing access for people on bikes and skates and, some of the way, in wheelchairs. One scenic path lies from the boundary with Reykjavík along the shore to Varmá sports centre. From the sports centre, the path to Laxnes in Mosfellsdalur valley (6.1 km) passes information signs at Ásar, the mouth of the valley and Mosfell church
